We’re delighted to announce that Edward Benyon from the Benyon Estate will be giving what promises to be a thoroughly fascinating talk about De Beauvoir Town at our next meeting on 2 October.
De Beauvoir has an intriguing history (everything from William Booth’s poverty maps of the late 1800s to William Lyttle, the ‘Mole Man of Hackney’, in more recent times), and no one knows more about it than Edward, who is himself a local resident and whose family has been associated with the neighbourhood since the 1820s. Edward will be speaking too about the Benyon Estate and its work today.
Don’t miss it!
Remember that you can bring guests (£5 admission). New members joining the DBWI this month can do so for a bargain £36 for 15 months’ membership.
